Implants and Immediate Prostheses. “All on Four” System
|
|
|
Based on the “Immediate function” cutting edge modality from Nobel Biocare, the “All on four” technique is excellent for the rehabilitation of edentulate maxillas (where all the teeth have been lost), given that it takes advantage of the inclination of the subsequent implants. This means that the insertion of 4 implants (or occasionally there may be 6 in the upper maxilla) facilitates the optimal prosthetic support for a fixed acrylic prosthesis which can be fully functional just a few hours after surgery.
The “All on four” system is ideal for implant treatments in cases in which the bone of the maxillas at posterior level is scant, as it takes advantage of the anterior section where the problem of bone availability is less, increasing the prosthetic support area and giving the posterior implants an inclination of some 30-45º. Without this new technique, a fixed screw prosthesis would perhaps be unthinkable without first resorting to Guided Bone Regeneration.

NOBEL GUIDE System. Minimally Invasive Surgery

New minimally invasive implantological surgical technique, thanks to “NOBEL GUIDE”, which faithfully produces a three dimensional reproduction of the maxillas. By so doing, perfect pre-surgical planning is made possible, without the need for a flap, with all post-operative symptoms minimised (inflammation, bleeding, pain, etc.), operating time reduced and, in indicated cases, it even permits the immediate attachment of a provisional resin prosthesis.

The Maestro Clinic has actively participated in the latest Nobel Biocare conference in Madrid presenting a poster, produced by Dr. Maestro, Dr. Eva López and Dr. Nuria Álvarez.
The poster represents the complete rehabilitation of both arcades of an anticoagulated and totally edentulous patient with the All on Four technique and planning the treatment with the Nobel Guide system. By bringing together these two new procedures we managed to reduce treatment time and the number of consultations; tension is reduced, both the patient and the professional, during the insertion of the implants, as thanks to planning with the Nobel Guide system we have full confidence and the treatment is totally predictable; neither incisions nor sutures are required and the patient can continue with his or her daily life with new teeth in just one sole session.

Lingual Orthodontics

Lingual orthodontics is an interesting response to the growing demand of people who want to straighten their teeth and show off a perfect smile without brackets being visible. And that is precisely the great difference in relation to conventional or labial orthodontics, as in the lingual variety the brackets are placed on the posterior part of the teeth. And it doesn’t matter at what age one decides to undergo orthodontics, as with this treatment we can correct any poorly positioned teeth and achieve both a healthy mouth and a perfect smile.
In October 2008, Dr. Teresa Sanz Maestro attended a course on advanced Lingual Ortodontics, “The State of the art in Lingual Orthodontics”, held by Dr. Silvia Geron, specialist in dentofacial Orthodontics and Orthopaedics in Israel.
This represents a great advance in this technique for the Maestro Clinic, specifically in the finishing of lingual orthodontic cases, for the benefit of all patients.

Injex. Needle-free anaesthesia
|
|
|
Without needing to use a needle, the liquid penetrates the subcutaneous tissue through a high pressure injection. A spring inside the injector produce the elastic force necessary to liberate the established volume of anaesthetic, through a micro-pore at the tip of the ampoule.
Despite the small quantity of anaesthetic used, the effect is sufficient for the work to be undertaken. On the other hand, the painless sensation of the technique is valuable in the majority of cases and, above all, as is the reduction in anxiety produced by the needle. This is especially effective when we treat children, as by not seeing a needle they remain calm and the result, at both patient and medical level, highly positive.
A negative aspect is the noise produced by the “shot”, which may induce fear at the moment of the injection. However, this fact can be substantially reduced if a prior demonstration is made for the patient so that he or she may hear the noise it makes.
In relation to pain or symptoms after 24 hours, they are no greater than those produced by conventional anaesthetic administered with a needle.
In short, it is a good system which helps to relax the patient, thereby ensuring our work is more effective.

ZOOM® Professional dental whitening (laser)
|
|
|
All whitening treatments must be indicated and supervised by a professional, as the products used can cause damage to the soft tissues if they are not adequately protected. The whitening technique with high intensity ultraviolet light is performed with 25% hydrogen peroxide. The light emitted is less intense and with a generation of heat far below all other systems.
It is very safe and whitens the teeth within an hour in the dental clinic, under the constant supervision of a professional duly qualified for the implementation of said procedure.
This system is known as ZOOM! It is innovative, effective and quick. In one sole appointment teeth of various shades are whitened and the change is immediate, it is the most innovative treatment at this time.

The incorporation of the microscope to buccodental operations has represented a very relevant and important technological advance, thanks to which work can be undertaken with maximum precision and safety. In November 2010, Dr. Teresa Sanz Maestro attended a “Workshop on Periodontal Regeneration with Microscope" given by Dr. Cortellini, as part of SEPA’s III Clinical Seminar held in Barcelona. Thanks to his masterly lecture, as he is one of the best specialists in the world in the subject, practical sessions were held with the microscope and Dr. Maestro had the opportunity to practice micro-surgical incisions which are currently performed in our clinic thanks to the advance in microscopic technique.
